NooYowkur- I think your poll is messed up, my vote didnt show up.

Besides the "ass shots" of Palin you refered to in the debate thread last night, what did you think of the debate?

I would also like to hear what everyone else thought of the debate.

lol.

I couldn't help but notice the ass shots, and Palin's a very attractive older woman. On MSNBC at least, they kept going to those behind the back shots every few minutes. It was a bit distracting.

But anyway, I thought it was pretty close to a draw with Biden edging her out.

Biden was killing her at the beginning and had her on the defensive a lot. But she managed to even things out progressively. Biden seemed more aggressive and "on," at the beginning but then seemed to settle into a monotone drone.

Neither was particularly impressive. I think Biden does a lot better in sit-down interviews or segments. They did what they had to do which was not mess up too much and defend their platforms and the respective pres. candidates.

McCain needed more though, considering how things are going for him right now, and Palin didn't deliver that. Palin exceeded the extremely low expectations that were set up for her, and that's not much of an accomplishment in the grand scheme of things.

I think thats a very fair assesment of the debate. I agree neither one was that impressive, and Paylin did hold her own after the first couple of questions, which suprised me. I couldnt stand her style though, the winking and "dogonit" crap made me almost turn it off lol

I think its very interesting that Biden was actually a consideration for McCains ticket.

Palin really didn't answer the questions. She had memorized talking points and speaches that she pivoted to when asked a question. She just doesn't have the understanding needed to be VP. All it takes is a follow up question asking for details and she gets in trouble (as seen w/ Couric). On the other hand, Biden displayed an understanding of the issues.

I think Biden won the debate. I think the main reason some people praised Palin was just because she didn't choke like she was expected too. Most people expected a train wreck.

Obama/Biden.
I wasn't impressed with Biden as a VP choice, but after watching the debate my opinions have changed.

Feh. I always vote republican for president (because I do not like commie pinkos, that's why - with the exception of Mark Greene), but I'm a registered democrat: the republicans are the minority party in Manhattan, despite who happens to be the Mayor. Thus, if you want to vote for someone with brains, or at least a less collectivist than the other, who has a chance of winning, you've got to be involved at the primary level - this pertains to local elections only, mind. I plan on flipping a coin in the booth: heads it's McCain/Palin, tails, I write in Allen Keyes. Nevertheless, I will be anyone $100 that Obama will win the general election by a substantial margin. I'm thinking 60-40, but wouldn't be surprised by 65-35. Once again, it's the economy, stupid. And the stupid economy needs some new people in charge. Since the Obama Admin looks like it will host many of the folks from the Clinton Admin, they can play on the good times of the mid-late 1990's.

This is an interesting chart explaining the candidates tax cuts/increases that I saw on the political section of city data. Thought I would post it here in case any one is interested.
