My husband and I will be staying at the Waldorf and seeing Spamalot at 8:00pm on Friday. I'm looking for a cool restaurant for dinner before the show. I want something special since it is his 40th birthday. We love Mexican and Italian food. Please help!!

Thanks!

How about trying something different. Here is my favourite portuguese restaurant (something perhaps between Italian and Mexican).

You can also check the entire list by location, rating, and price.

Try Zagats.com for information about restaurants (hotels, etc too). Be aware that you can pay hundreds of dollars at some restaurants for a dinner for two.

i worked in that area, before i became a stay at home mom/part-time worker....here are some restaurants in that area that are really great....

and sgoldie is SO RIGHT you can pay hundreds for dinner for two...just be careful.

Virgil's BBQ cool, busy place, almost like an upscale dinner
Sardi's, good food
Carmine's which is GREAT, good food, nice restaurant and very busy as well.
Heartland Brewery is nice, almost like an upscale Outback, good food and service

Check the theatre for recommendations as well...i used to do this ALL THE TIME, when I worked as the assistant to the senior vice president of the company I was with.

Have a great time
