Ed Burns' movie "Sidewalks of New York - light romantic comedy like Woody Allen makes. As you know, many of Woody Allen's movies take place in NY. But you have to be a fan.

"On the Town," the 1949 classic starting Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra (among many others) -- shot on location in NYC. The original "New York, New York" song comes from this film:

"New York, New York -- a helluva town.
The Bronx is up and the Battery's down.
And people ride in a hole in the ground.
New York, New York -- it's a helluva town!"

That is a great song by the way it's been remixed a plethora of times

I actually never heard of him before but it sounds like him and Spike lee have one thing in common:

What do you all think?!

You listed some of my favorite movies (A Bronx Tale, Do the Right Thing, Coming to America).

I'm drawing a blank on others.Hmmm So many movies are filmed here. Goodfellas, 25th hour, I'll add more later when I can think.

My vote goes to Men in Black, since it acknowledged a simple notion that Queens residents have had for years... those towers at the nys pavilion look a hell of a lot like UFOs on sticks.
