I have done the gay scene in every single one of those mentioned, and I dont see how you can say that
While anyone can certainly have difference of opinion-

You can pit cities like SF, Orlando, Ft Lauderdale easily in a numbers game.

Cities that have more gay bars per cap than NYC by far-
Personals on gay websites with numbers similar to NYC for cities that are 1/10th the size-

I would NOT add Reno, Raleigh, Las Vegas, etc. to the list as those are minimal and bland for what they are.

Big clubs in aforementioned cities can have thousands on a busy sat. night- New Yorks biggest weekly events no longer come close.

Have you ever partied in WEHO? OMG a bore..and last call at 1:15..forget about it....I will pass
In NYC we work hard we play harder.
Sorry no place I been can compare to partying in different neighborhoods, among different ethnicities til the wee hours of the morning, plus fire island even though not NYC, a ballroom scene, gay sports activities, and much much more
My point is that the New York gay scene is more sophisticated. It's not about going clubbing like it is other cities. Those places exist, but the New York scene is much more diverse and has a large cultural element.
