Bloomberg Meets His Match
YESSSSS!!!!!
Michael Bloomberg's bid for a third term hit an expensive obstacle Monday when a billionaire businessman declared that he will open up his wallet and spend some of his fortune to fight the mayor's effort to overturn the term-limits law
The story is here...

And if Bloomberg loses he will have yet another little tantrum.

Goes to show you that billionaire political candidates aren't interested in helping the people.
Golisano and Bloomberg will spend a half billion dollars each for their own egos, to make "names" for themselves in the history books alongside other NY mayors and governors but what about the people who they both claim to be doing things for.
Where could that half a billion dollars go to in this economy? How many deserving poor could be given places to live, fed? How many jobs could be created? How much of a boost to the economy?

Well, if it's any consolation, the half a billion dollars will go into the economy as they spend it on these advertising campaigns. If they didn't spend on their own egos (as you put it), it would be sitting in their bank accounts.

True, the half billion will go into the economy...................
But those who need the money won't benefit from this outrageous waste of spending nor will any of us get a break on what we the taxpayers are spending on transit, infrastructure repair, police, fire, sanitation, education, new and unneeded stadiums etc.
Or bailouts.
Or this incredibly filthy garbage in the streets known as recycling. Less polluted air for more rats, mice, roaches? No thanks.
Let Golisano and Bloomberg take their half billion (ALL BULLion) dollars and bail the state and the city out instead of throwing it around to boost their egos and to pay the media off enough so that two mediocre, greedy egomaniacs will be portrayed to the public as great men instead.

I think Golisano is still sore because he wasn't able to buy the governorship last time out. As for Mayor Bloomberg, I don't have a big problem with term limits, but I happen to think that three terms is a better idea than two. That's the only reason I wouldn't have a problem with his running for a third term. The way he's going about getting the charter amended--that's up for debate.
