It fluctuates but the job market is always at least relatively good for nurses in NYC.

Mt. Sinai will require a 4 year college degree or BSN in order to get an interview! It is a Magnet hospital and it is overturn rate is very low! Most NYC-HHC hospitals, except Elmhust, will only need a 2 year college in nursing. Woodhull Medical Center is always hiring. I spent a year over there in the ICU. However, the city hospital's overturn rate is "disturbing." Annual salary is $66k/year and + $5000 more if you are willing to work night.
You can google all the hospitals located in NYC by typing "hospitals located in nyc." Their websites will let you know whether they are hiring or not.

It helped me to pass the NCLEX-RN 4 years ago!
