Moving from Paris -- Considering NYC (New York, York: how much, living in, budget)

Hi,

I have been living in Paris for a few years, and may possibly take a job in NYC. I would greatly appreciate any advice from those familiar with living in European cities and New York.

Although I am originally from the tri-state area, I must say that I felt really attuned to the European culture, social events, and people.

Would NYC be a Huge shock after living in Paris or London?

And, what about those New York single men?

Finally -- Does anyone have tips on finding a temporary apt. in or near nyc?
