If you're anywhere near to the UWS you can check the Salvation Army on 96 between Broadway and West End or the Holy Name of Jesus Church on 96 between Broadway and Amsterdam.

Also, from 'New York Cares:' If you are in need of a coat or know someone who is, you can pick up a coat voucher weekdays from December 1 through December 31, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., at the coat collection sites in Grand Central Terminal, Penn Station, and Port Authority Bus Terminal. Coats cannot be distributed at collection sites. The voucher will direct you to a nearby walk-in center where you can get a coat.

I know it's in December, but it's something to remember.

Riverside Church shower project 9:30 AM Wednesdays. They have clothing to give out.

Address is 490 Riverside Dr. bet W 121st and W 122nd Go through back entrace on Claremont Ave. You can go other days if you can't wait until Wed and ask if they have a coat in your size to give.

And while abdul is hitting the area, he might as well check all the places mentioned since most are in the same general area (except the Grand Central location). He can come off at 96, check those places mentioned, check DAS's recommendation for Riverside Church a little further uptown, and even check out The Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine on Amsterdam Avenue @ 112.
