Best bang for your NYC hotel?
I'm looking at going to NYC Dec.28-Jan.2 and was wondering what hotel offers alot for it's price (preferably <$350.00/night).
Thanks!

At that time of the year, not many. Check out the Washington Square Hotel, though. The last time I stayed in NY in Dec. it was $600/night.

Go on priceline.com and bid for hotels.
You could probably get a nice hotel at that price using priceline. A friend of mine stayed at the Essex House @ Central Park South (very $$ and luxurious) a few months ago for around that.

Yes, but remember that the Holiday season in NYC will result in much higher occupancies and prices overall, so it may not be as easy as getting a deal on Priceline. It's a destination city for Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year's, etc., so plan accordingly.

You may have to expand your parameters to include the outer boroughs for that time of year.

Parameters including costs, volume of visitors, may have changed immensely since then. But if the OP books early and would consider nearby outer boroughs as well, he/she should be okay for a trip.

Another thing to remember is that one might have to pay premiums for certain nights, such as Dec. 31st. You can find a decent rate many nights, but premiums abound, and a $350 room can easily become a $600 room overnight; hence, it's better to book as early as possible.

Absolutely. It's because of this that I suggested there might be a possibilty to include outer boroughs. But of course, I believe that and understand why the OP would prefer to be in Manhattan at that time of year. He/She needs to act fast though.

I'd even cast the net into close-in New Jersey at that rate and time of the year.
