true but lets be real... anytime whites come in, the rents rise and then it is no longer affordable. Name one neighborhood in this city that is successfully integrated with all races and affordable. There are none. Of course, anybody is free to rent whatever they can afford. But this city makes housing so expensive by not opening up access to underdeveloped neighborhoods and the huge cost of construction, thanks to all the requirements, bureaucracy, and union labor. So in the meantime, now we have a limited supply, and increased demand. Who's the one who's gonna be kicked out? Not Mr. Blankito. Its never Mr. Blankito. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with integrated neighborhoods. But they just don't exist. Its either rich, poor, or soon to be rich, with the poor being pushed out of their own community.

^ not if there is already some form of affordable housing in place. Then we can have a better mix of whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, rich or poor in one neighborhood.
Also please dont forget that alot of blacks with money also choose to move to places like Harlem, for example.

What I find funny is the people who complain here. Some are like 'oh is too much affordable housing been built in my neighborhood and all the criminals will move here, too much is not good', others 'oh not enough affordable housing here and all the rich will move here and everyone will be price out'. LOL, no one can be happy.

Jackson you should understand that white people are not all rich, and they need affordable housing just like anyone else. Unfortunately it is not YOUR neighborhood anymore than it was white people's neighborhood before people of color moved in...so if you want to be real let's be real. If you believe that people of color, who are now over 50% of the city's residents (that would be the MAJORITY), are somehow disappearing...you are mistaken. There is a SUBSTANTIAL amount of public housing that is ALMOST THE EXCLUSIVE DOMAIM of people of color, the city is also building a substantial amount of new affordable housing that is being filled with...guess who...ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY PEOPLE OF COLOR. So if anyone should be complaining, it is the white people who DO NO have the same access to affordable housing as people of color, and who are subsequently (although inadvertently) "forced" to pay up the nose for housing. The fact remains, whites are not doing anything to anyone..they need an affordable place to live like anyone else. But since it is inconvenient to you and "your people" it is billed as something evil, sinister, and "they are out to get us." You do a phenomenal job of spreading ignorance and hate, but YOU DO NOT represent the community, just small-minded, poorly educated folks who do not understand the real world.

The Bronx, and the South Bronx in particular, continues its upswing, and there it is actually a good thing that we are discussing the new people moving in and the effect it may have on the community...it shows real progress and change! There is in fact room for everyone in the Bronx, and in particular the South Bronx, and the city is going above adn beyond to make sure that afforable housing is built and available. By the way..my 200+ trees are almost in..pics coming soon!

I'm making note of your continued vilification of posters in my brand new three ring binder just purchased the other day. It was meant to include all errant posters but unfortunately you alone are occupying its contents. Once it's full, I'll be sending it to the new admin in Washington to see what changes they can bring about to remedy this situation

Good...make sure to note who are the ignorant/racist posters who are spreading the hate that I am rebuking...as they are the problem here. I call a duck a duck...these posters who spread hate and ignorance should be called out for what they are..it is not okay or acceptable to spread hate/lies..and I shall continue my quest to counter such ignorance and hate speech.

On a funny note, I indicated that the South Bronx continues to change as the Wall Street Journal now delivers to the area (or at least Mott Haven). Why is this significant? Because before they would not deliver because there was not enough subscriptions/demand to warrant it...however as of last Saturday they reached whatever critical mass required and now delivery every morning. BUT, and this is the funny part, somebody took my paper on Wed morning! Some things don't change! lol..but it was because they wanted the Obama winning edition I suspect..as no other has been taken. I hope whoever took it reads it at least..they may learn something.
