This probably has something to do with the Fordham Ovals but nonetheless. Port Morris is where the whites are down there.

And if you expected to come to the Bronx and hear nightly gunshots, then you're 16 years too late. However, that doesn't mask the widespread poverty and relatively high crime rate in the borough. The biggest error you can make is letting your guard down.
I agree. She's probably a tranplant or someone with an agenda.

I have been to Chicago a few times. It reminds me of nyc circa 1985. There are areas which look like 3rd world countries. Poverty is a relative term and the poor there are very poor. I do like the ethnic white negihborhoods and bars. I met guys who reminded of guys I grew up with in bensonhurst. Barack Hussein didn't create very much change in chicago I guess. I think they lead the nation in homicides.

Hehe....that was funny. There is no doubt the Bronx is changing and continues to change. Those revolution parties on your other thread are just an example of whats happening in the good ol bronx..specifically the South Bronx. But hey..why take my word for it (or the word of those purposely trying to scare people away)...come see for yourself! Mott Haven, Concourse, Melrose, and Hunts Point (aka The South Bronx) are spearheading the changes, the green movement, affordable housing, promoting the arts, new retail and restaurants, new parks, bike trails, etc. It is a wonderful thing to see..and I encourage those to come see. If anyone is interested I would be happy to provide a tour of the area....I am a longtime resident!

Oh please, Chicago aint nothing. Chicago is getting gassed up to the high heavens. This year it has seen a significant increase in homicides but it still doesn't touch the worst crime cities. Years prior, it was an average crime city. The southside of Chicago, yes it's bad. But dont give me west Chicago. The Bronx kills it.

You want to make the Bronx look bad? Use

New Orleans
Camden
Newark
Detroit
DC
Baltimore
Philadelphia
Gary
East St Louis
St Louis

Dont use Chicago. It's ridiculous.

lol...here are my comments: 1-in terms of population, Miami has less than 500,000 people, the Bronx has over a million....so you are right..how can I compare the borough of the Bronx versus the city of Miami. The Bronx is over double in population! Now I wonder what the crime rates are as a percentage of population..hmmm. 2-My villafication of Brooklyn is always in jest, as the Bronx and Brooklyn have had a healthy competition for decades...of course, someone from neither borough would not understand that. 3-NYer....well said!

This is dumb. Can you at least try to compare high crime neighborhoods in those cities with high crime neighorhoods in the Bronx, for every 100,000 people like is suppose to be.
