How many cookies is your landlord feeding you?

More like how many cookies are her students feeding her? Do kids still bring their own snacks and lunches to school these days?

lol you guys make it seem like my landlord feeds me. In the year I've lived here, he's given me stuff from his garden a total of 4 times.
On my stop and shop account, it says I've saved $130 since January. I'm also skinny and get full with the smallest amounts of food, so I never need to buy a lot. My dad has always said since I was a little kid that I'm a cheap date, lol. It's true.
You can probably save a lot if you really tried.
And no, I don't steal food, lol. And it's 1st grade I teach, not pre-k

So, do you all think I'll be able to make it? Or am I being too naive?

You prolly can make it, people make it on worse here. but unless your into self punishment i wouldn't recomend it. If your doing ok where you are, stay there and save money.
NYC won't do anything for you, yeah you'll live in a big city but that gets old fast when you are broke.

Yeh I understand, I just feel like I need to do it for myself. I can always leave if i don't like it or if things don't work out. At least I won't regret not ever trying.

You can make it anywhere if the desire is strong enough. Humans are like rats, they are great at adaptation.

I understand how you feel, I've never left NYC and have been thinking the same thing. like i need to experience a new place for myself.
But I'm in no position financially to relocate. I'd rather do it right.

Yeh, I decided that b/w March-May I could be in a decent position to be out of here. I wish I could leave tonight. But anyways, I got a second job delivering newspapers and bought me a one-way ticket to NYC for March 31. I think I may start to apply for jobs at JFK/LGA, maybe EWR mid-late March. Hopefully I can get on my feet sooner than later after I arrive.
