Default Cheap Car Insurance

So Im a musician in New York City (Bushwick, Brooklyn) and I've been struggling without a car for 3 or 4 years now. As a musician, it would help a ton with moving gear around.

Basically, I'm 23 years old. I have a car at my parents house outside Philly. They don't use it, so i wanted to bring it up here to Brooklyn. Its a 95' Camry LE wuith 75,000 miless on it (good right?) I have a totally clean driving record. I don't want comprehensive insurance. The car is prob only worth 2000 bucks at this point.

Geico quoted me on 1500 for a year, which is a little mroe than I want to spend. I know a drumemr who lives in Soho and uses State-Wide (smaller company) and he pays $900 a year with them! Hes 45 though, and they quoted me wayyyy more cause im young.

So does anyone know anything that could be cheaper? like, $1000 or $1200 a year? I just need it to go about 2 or 3 miles a few times a week (from Bushwick, to the Lower East Side) so itd be a shame to pay so much for that

Let me know, thanks!

how long have you had your license. That may be a factor but that sounds not bad, at least for me. I am 30, only had my license for 2 years. I still cannot get a quote under 400 a month initially.

To me, your quote sounds great considering all the facts you threw around. You must have gotten your license as a teen.
