Sharp post cjma. Drinking milk is no good for you, it is engineered to fatten up a suckling calf quickly, a grown adult does not need this type of nutrition. The most efficient way to acquire calcium is to eat green leafy foods, just like the cow did. It is better to copy the cows nutrition style rather than suck on its teat. The only thing that should be drinking cow milk is a suckling calf.
BTW, Pathmark had a gallon of milk for sale for $3 the other day for those that continue to suck the teat.

No, I am not an expert on real estate, nor taxes,
But I am an expert on Biology, and Medicine, I am a doctor.
But if you believe that calcium is created from thin air, I have no problem with that.
I guess that all other animals that dont drink milk, they also produce milk from breathing air. We are just the unlucky ones that have to drink milk and only milk to have calcium in our diet.

Thanks, finally you are seeing the truth about my IQ.
But really, milk is not the only source nor the best source of your calcium or vit. D.

If y'all would like to debate the merits/disadvantages of drinking milk, City-Data has kindly provided an entire Forum devoted to the topic of Food & Drink. Or if you'd prefer to discuss non-dairy alternatives (soy/rice/almond milks), feel free to join us on the Vegetarian forum.
The question posted on this thread, however, was simply where to find the least expensive milk -- so let's please try to keep on topic.
Thanks!

I got so excited tosee all the replies to my post - only to discover thatit was all debate, not suggestions. Except Pathmark, and I've never seen a Pathmark in central Manhattan, although I'll check the telephone book.
As for milk not being good for you, I imagine it's much better than the Coke and Pepsi that most people drink. As for Viralmd's Moderator cut: statement, in the past I've found periods when much cheaper milk was available in the west 40s and east 30s, both of which were easy walks.

And that, folks, is why we ask you to keep these threads on-topic .....

The point is, however, that milk just isn't that inexpensive anymore and if you're not finding it at a "reasonable price" in your neighborhood, you're likely going to have to travel some distance. Is it worth an hour of your time, for example, to save $1.00? It wouldn't be for me.
