And only Puerto Ricans are stricken with poverty, eh? You need only tour other parts of the country where poor people live and you will find all kinds, all nationalities of latinos, blacks and a ton of whites. Bendito, I feel a bit sorry for ya trying so hard to hate your brethren (as the yardies aka Jamaicans say haha).

OK Mister Doctor, do tell us all what your background is -- as an example -- so we can know how you are so sure someone that comes from extreme poverty can just get out if they really wanted.
If it was that easy, there would be no poor people..

That would account for the 7 percentage point difference between blacks and Puerto Ricans as I am quite sure both ethnic groups are educationally on equal footing when they both originate in NY. That being because when they grow up in NYC, they grow up in similar poverty stricken environments with similar issues related to poverty. Hence why you get the outcome that you see here. And if you go to any trailor park in the country, you will find the same exact outome of low education and poverty; only difference is those people will be white rather than black or PR.
|
Ok, so where did you get that 7%, that means that 35% of educated blacks are not New Yorkers..
How many educated Puerto Rican are Nuyoricans? the whole 100%?
Or would it be 35% like the blacks?
And from where do you get this magical number of 7%?
Great, I really dont get your reasoning, so no Puerto Rican are transplants. I see only blacks,
When you are talking with one right now, and my wife is one, In most Puerto Rican resident are actual Puerto Ricans and not nuyoricans.
Strange....
Please you dont have any evidence, your point doesnt even make sense.
The weird idea that only Blacks are coming to NYC and not Puerto Ricans from Orlando, Chicago, or Puerto Rico are coming to NYC is a weak point. Since I have provided solid evidence that only 11% of Puerto Ricans in NY are educated the only thing you come up with is that, oh that is because the 11% are real nuyorican and the others are non-new yorkers?
If 35% of the blacks are from out of state, that would mean that 35% of puerto rican are out of state, meaning that less then 7% of Nuyoricans are educated,
Wow,, is even worst that I thought

Easy I will use your own status
Status: "My candidate won ."
Obama, does he come from a rich family or a poor family????
Did he made it out of poverty???
So I ask you if he can do it, why cant others???
Also since going to college is easier for blacks and latinos what is the reason they dont go again?
Everybody has the opportunity to go the college, their is no reason why not to go.
About 85% of all medical student were on Staford loans, (because they were poor). The other 25% had parents with money.

Again, can you tell me why nuyoricans are the lowest in poverty in new york city?? Why blacks are higher???
You cant deny the numbers...
So soon you are going to say, oh that is because only educated black people come the NYC and only poor Puerto Rican comes to NYC...
Oh and I am not trying to hate anybody, but unlike you, I cant deny the reality.
Nuyoricans(again not all), for some reason have been here for almost 3 generation and still have not made it like the Blacks, or other groups. Why they are behind, and way behind everybody else. Even the national numbers the Puerto Ricans from the US are less educated compared to Blacks nationwide.
But I already know your answer, is because all immigrants from africa are educated and that is why is higher. Also all latinos that comes to the US are uneducated and that is why the balance is toward Puerto Ricans, because of the immigration.
Again, NATIONWIDE, Puerto Rican are lower then others
New York City, Nuyoricans are lower then others.
Only in Puerto Rico, is the % almost the same as whites.

A very intersting read about Puerto Ricans in NYC. The article is from 2000, but I am sure still holds true somewhat...

According to the most recent data, about 40 percent of New York's Puerto Ricans qualified as poor, a figure considerably higher than that of African-Americans and worse than the average rate for all Hispanics.
|
Like it say New York's Puerto Ricans, not Puerto Ricans but Nuyoricans. are lower then blacks, and lower then other hispanics.

Again, more information...

Many researchers say there is not enough scholarship to lay out a definitive explanation of why so many Puerto Ricans in the city continue to struggle.
|
I see that even the EXPERTS, dont know why Nuyoricans are struggling compared to others.

You have not shown us any statistics on this lie that PRs in NY are the poorest and least educated ethnic group in NYC. Stop lying about your own people.
IF THIS IS TRUE THAT YOUR PEOPLE ARE THE WORST OFF, SHOW ME THE PROOF.
Like I've said, there is always the exception as to how a poor person makes it in life. But unfortunately that is not the rule. If it was so easy, then there would be no poor people right?

Plenty of discrimination. Many Puerto Ricans were discriminated because the did not speak English and because they were not white enough
|
Hey crisp, what do you think of this guy saying that Puerto Ricans are not seen as White enough ?
