Which is better (apartment, how much, purchase)

I've been Craiglisting and some apartment buildings have washer and dryer in the building is that more expensive then just taking them to the laundrymat?

In my building, it's $2.05 to wash one load, and $1.05 for 15 minutes of dry time (the dryers are large and can hold 2-3 washer loads). In the laundry room there is a station where you can purchase or refill a debit-like card to use on the machines, so you don't have to use change. I don't know how much the local laundrymats are, but even if somewhat less, it's worth it for the convenience of not having to leave the building to do one's laundry.

Many times it's cheaper or about the same - but I tell you, you can't beat the convenience of having the facilities in the building.

However, please note that on a strictly overall cost analysis, you'll end up more out of pocket in a building with laundry and elevator, etc., as the rents are much higher than any cost saving with the laundry in the building.

I always use the drop & fold service. Is between 55 to 65 cents a pound, I think is worth it if you work long hours and dont see your family much.
