Oh yeah... Bring it on. Enough with my ongoing love affair with netflix and restaurant delivery guys who love me for my tips and my smile. Ah... Springtime in the big city. I can already feel it in the air.

cazz, I'm tired of all the talk about class and no class, about dining with the Queen or being shown the back door by her butler, about the state of the economy, recession, Manhattan vs outer boroughs, gentrification. I'm just about ready to throw in the towel, do a no pants subway event....and just meet in the park or a bar with nice people here in the city....yeah, let's all do a meetup soon and forget about the trials and tribulations of life. Let's just meet up, share a drink, a laugh at each other and share a hug - regardless of class, religion, pigmentation, borough...or whether we have on our pants or not!!!

joint meetup.com It's not a singles - though there may be a singles group included. It's a huge variety of different groups and interests. It works pretty well. Everyone in the same boat.

cazz, when we all meet up, no talk about CD topics like marijuana, gentrification, layoffs, etc. - just teach us how to do a no-pants subway event, let's take a walk, have a drink, and be ourselves! See ya soon!

I guess this is the best thread to not be off topic in my warm Valentine wishes to all CD posters - and to let you know that when we all meet for our spring get together, please bring along your Valentines with you. Let's all have a great time knowing each other and showing that NYC can be a fun place to meet people socially, romantically, professionally!!!

Probably a bit late, but there are always a bunch of local activities that are cheap to do around. Since you're in Riverdale, you can try looking at Inwood and Washington Heights ( Calendar of Events - Washington Heights & Inwood Online ). There might be one for your neck of the woods as well. Also, there are always a bunch of random cheap and free things to do around the city where you can meet people; it just takes effort and playing the odds. A lot.

Oh, and volunteering in something you're interested in is probably the easiest way to meet people you might like.
