Default NYC's focus for 2009 - Improvements

I think the city should clean up all these boarded up foreclosed on homes and let HPD take them over. Raze them and replace them with new affordable housing like they've been doing with other rehab projects.

Please add to the thread....what should NYC focus on for the new year to improve?

Default Agreed

I agree, instead here in Staten Island, the city 'DCAS" started putting up a 2 story chainlink fence on a small piece of city land.

Money well spent? This small parcel has been a horse barn since the 50's, but with all the forclosed homes and homeless people, it makes a lot of sense to pay for a 2 story fence. What did this acomplish? Well it spread the misery around to a lot of kids that stay off the streets and keep their grades up.

Really this city needs to wake up! These kids dont like baseball or soccer, they are just going to end up on the street. What is going on? Don't the taxpayers have a say?
