Can someone please give me some feedback...anything about Harrison, New York. I amy have a job interview there and really considering the move if offered....size, activities, nature, cost of living (House, Apt)community??

How far is it to Mahoapac? Someone said that was one of the more resonable places to live.

Thanks in advance,

I go to school and voted with Harrison (to bend the conservative curve, I guess), so I guess you could say I'm a resident.

It's REALLY expensive around here. I'm talking one of the most expensive areas in the country. Unless you're loaded, buying a house is probably not a great idea. It is beautiful, though, especially in the moderate seasons (spring, autumn). If you want to rent, maybe you should look into Port Chester (sort of the next town over), since it's cheaper, more pedestrian friendly, and has a lot of shops and restaurants.

I've also heard that New Jersey is only 1/2 hour away.
Other than that, I don't know Westchester too well.

Danielle - Mahopac is about 35-40 min. drive up north from Harrison. The town is in Putnam county right over Westchester border, and yes, real estate is definitely more affordable there. There you will also find beautiful country roads, lakes, and very easy access to major highways. The closest MTA train station is Croton Falls which is at exit 8 off I-684.
Good luck with your job interview!
