Default Parking (garage and street) in Brooklyn

We're probably moving to Brooklyn (from UES) in a few months, which will be a compromise on my part because I originally wanted to move out of state, namely because I miss having a car. From what I am paying to live in Manhattan now, and the savings of moving, I do think a car is doable, I'd really like to have one.

We'll be looking to move to Williamsburg, Park Slope, Fort Greene, Prospect Park or Heights, for the most part. So, if anyone who lives in these areas can speak of ease of parking on street, but also people who can quote me about how much they pay for a garage per month, how many monthly garages are around in Brooklyn, how close it is to your apartment, etc... that would be great. I'm just trying to figure out if it's possible or if I should give it up. haha. Thanks!

Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights and Prospect Park are all nightmares, similar to Manhattan for parking. There have been some articles in the Times recently on parking issues in Williamsburg. I don't know about the other areas, but it won't be fun doing the every other day moving the car thing.
