Interesting.
So if you have "all the capitol" to sustain both of you in NYC (most expensive city in the US) for a while why not put that money towards sustaining yourselves in LA and let her finish her degree.
And you should be asking if Architecture firms are hiring right now b/c many are not, and it makes much for sense for you guys to move based on your career, not hers. IMO

Thanks, but it is more her decision to move because it is where she is from. We are not moving because careers, we do not like LA and want to be closer to our families (hers in NYC and mine in Maine).
Expensive, yes, but as I thought I mentioned (maybe in another topic i think), we are staying with her Aunt in the "communal family house" in the Bronx. It is pretty tattered, so I plan to fix it up a bit and stay until we find a place of our own. So I guess I am ahead of the game in that sense (although I would love to not stay with her family, it is going to be practically free rent, so I would have a hard time saying no)
And there is another topic about the architecture field I am in, so thanks for assuming I am retarded.

I have all the capital to move us to NYand sustain for a while, but I may have a harder time finding a job in my industry than she, which is why I was curious if she could jump in and make decent money. And yes, I also was asking if anyone here had friends or family in the business for better insight.
Also, porn is not an option. She had a scholarship to Boston University where she was 2 years into biology/pre-med when we moved to LA. She has brains as well. Stripping was just something I mentioned as a joke, but because we were in a bad spot when we came to LA, she tried it and made good money. So, it is temporary to get us by for now.
Oh, and exotic dancing being demeaning is only an opinion you should form if you are to do it. It is perfectly honest work for honest pay. You may also think artifically inseminating a cow is demeaning because you have to fist the cow, but it has to get done some way. Maybe you should be less judgemental and realize not everyone has the same opportunities, be it good or bad, just different.

Sorry! I thought you were a lazy ass pimp too! I think we all did.My apologies...and good luck.

yeah, great analogy.....stripper and artificial insemination! and sometimes one can even lead to the other - minus the cow!

Well, it is a pretty obvious violation of the cow. I am sure PETA has something to say about it. My point is that there are so many things that others see as demeaning or object able, but that is someones way of making a life for oneself. Its rude to judge. Moderate them.

I don't mind the pimp so much, but lazy really upsets me. I am a hard working guy who is supporting two people (one who is rather high maintenance) on a pretty modest salary.
Anyway, I appreciate the kind words and you are all forgiven. Maybe if I am around in April I'll let you know where she is dancing so you can help pay our bills!!

Oops. Sorry I got on the wrong thread! I thought that this was an ad and I was just about to apply - what with the economy tanking, I figured I'd try my luck part-time then I realized that this isn't an ad.
Anyway, I may not make a good stripper after all - even the old ladies across the street close their eyes and laugh sarcastically when I forget to pull down the shutters!
Oh well....back to writing that novel!
