Thumbs up It’s official — residents of Queens are the happiest in the city.

Channeling a happy place? It’s in Queens

Quote:
More than half the people in the borough say they are “very satisfied” with where they live.

I don't wanna make this a bash any other borough post as I absolutely LOVE all five boroughs, all of NYC! But I've got to say that I absolutely feel very, very happy when I'm in Queens. I presently live on the UWS and have lived in Brooklyn in the past.

I love when I exit a subway or car in Queens and can actually look up and see the sky. I love when I'm sitting in a relative's backyard in the summer enjoying a barbecue. I love the variety of housing - detached houses, condos, co-ops, apartment buildings, townhouses. And I absolutely love the variety of people, age groups, dining options. I love the feel that while I know that I am definitely still in the city, I can experience a suburban ambience in Queens.

Does this mean that Queens is the best borough for all New Yorkers? Absolutely NOT! We each have our favorite ones as we are all different individuals. It's all good to go!

I feel absolutely the same way about Queens. When I got my place in Morningside Heights in the 90's, I couldn't afford Queens. Queens would have been my first choice. It is a great boro. It has a really nice vibe.

I love Queens and this area (NE Queens) has the city feel and the quiet ambiance. I love the Express Bus, being a regular on it and knowing most of the drivers and some of the other regular passengers.
