Commute time between washington heights and englewood cliffs?
My bf and I live in St. Louis. He has a new job in Englewood Cliffs so we're thinking of moving to either Jersey City or Washington Heights area, maybe even Morningside. We're on a budget but craigslist is showing a few options. The question I'm posing to you guys is what's the commute time from wash hts to EC? How about from Morningside? We were told JC to EC could take up to 40 min. to an hour driving in morning traffic. I'd much rather live in the NY side so I'm wondering if the commute is any better/worse/same from there. Thanks for your help, ahead of time.

Washington Heights and englewood cliffs are only separated by the Hudson River
During rush hour it should not take him long I estimate at most 30 minutes

Is it a train commute the whole way there? Well, 30 minutes is better than I thought. I've heard horrors about crossing the bridges in rush hour. Anyone else agree with the 30 minute approximate commute time?

Actually, it's a reverse commute, as you are headed outbound. He would have to take the bus from the George Washington Bridge Station, which is accessible via subway, to Englewood Cliffs. The GWB Bus Station is on Broadway in the 170s. It's maybe 15 minutes from when the bus departs the terminal to Englewood Cliffs, and then depending upon stop and walk to the office, 30 minutes is about right, but that doesn't include getting to the GWB Bus Station.

Would physically driving from Washington heights to englewood cliffs be about the same time, as well?

This is correct. You couldn't ask for an easier commute ,especially if you look for an apt within walking distance of the bus terminal. Do yourself a favor and leave the car at the employee parking lot in New Jersey(which might be free) and do the commute by public transportation. Then you won't have to deal with the expense or hassle of a car in Manhattan but the car will always be close by when you need it on weekends or whatever.
That's my 2 cents!
