Bronx Fighting Graffitti and Making Big Improvements
This was a great article from the Daily News. Graffitti has been on the rise across the city, but it's the Bronx that is taking the fight to the next level. They have enlisted the community, police, politicians, local businesses, and the federal government to finally end graffitti in the borough. With any luck the other boroughs will follow suit shortly! " Most credit goes to a combination of focused law enforcement and rapid cleanup programs sponsored by local elected officials, merchants and civic groups that take away the incentive for vandals to leave their mark in a fleeting shot at immortality." You clean it up as fast as you possibly can, and then a chilling effect — by arresting the offenders and giving them real sentences.” Great job Bronx....this kind of community involvement, cooperation by local businesses and police support show the improvements happening in the Bronx, and indicative of a borough on the rise! Communities, cops get tough on graffiti - and get results

It's about time that graffiti is seen for what it is: vandalism. (It's only art if someone wants it there in the first place). Three cheers for the efforts in The Bronx!

about time? graffiti has been viewed almost exclusively as vandalism by most people. it is a felony in most cases.
graf is going out of style and the ugly tags, etc, are done almost exclusively by kids with no other way to express themselves. give them other ways to make their mark on the world around them and express themselves and you will find that graffiti is reduced and what remains is of a much higher caliber.

Glad to see my borough taking a strong stand on graffiti and sending a message to these punk "wanna be gangstas" kids that parents CAN'T CONTROL.

Graffiti is art just like anything else (its illegal because the government doesnt want minorities to express themselves)

Are you kidding me? That is a very ignorant remark you just said. So you mean to tell me its OK for kids to tag up other people's property because its a good way for kids to express themselves? Get out of here with that nonsense.

LOL...typical. Why am I NOT surprised you are in favor of graffiti and vandalism. But then again, you are also in favor in legalizing drugs and prostitution. LOL
