I know this has been posted/explained a lot.. however plz do let me know one more time.. I will be working in NYC and am exploring living options. Say for eg my salary is 100000 what would be my taxes breakdown if I choose to live in NY v/s NJ?

PayCheck City will give you a pretty good "guesstimate" of your take-home pay. For New York, be sure to put "NYC Resident" in the City Tax drop down box.

I loved this site, but there seem to to be issues. It is really weird, I put in all my information and according to this site I was supposed to come home with 200$ more. I'm not sure why and there is really no explanation. However, I put my sister-n-laws info in who lives in Florida and it was completely accurate. Not sure of the trickery in ny's break down, but it seemed to work and be accurate for other states.

Perhaps you have deductions for health insurance, union dues, or something else that you didn't include? If not, then I'm not sure why your results are off -- it was always very accurate for me ... ???
