Came to NY to go to Columbia to get an MSW in 1973.Never intended to stay at all but I am still here..Traveled a lot .Spent long periods of time in other places but can't imagine actually being able to live anywhere else.Still enjoying every day...on a teachers(NYC DOE) salary ! Who says you have to be rich to enjoy NY ?

If it was not for me getting married in Virginia, I would've ended up back in New York (probably in Brooklyn or Queens) by now. I miss the big city excitement, subways that run 24 hours a day, and also being able to have a variety of things to do right outside your doorstep. I also miss going to Atlantic City whenever I felt like it.

Did I mention that I miss last call being 4AM unlike where I'm at now, last call is at 1:30 in the morning.

Where I went to college (In Montana), we had house parties afterwards

I love NYC because...

The Mets
People know that being nice involves more than just being friendly
MTA System, 1.5 to anywhere, except if you are taking the G, that train sucks
Bars never really stop serving drinks

I will admit, being here a year, the magic has worn off, but I still like it a lot. I went to visit my hometown of Seattle a month ago, and I had to drive somewhere, it was wierd and annoying.

They either go home, to Waffle house, or Denny's

I grew up in New York and thought about moving elsewhere after college. I'm currently interning in Oklahoma City and one semester away from graduation. Let me just say that I after living out here, New York is beginning to feel more like heaven with each passing day. I would not move away from New York unless it's to the SF Bay Area. The only cities that I've been to that I can say is better than New York are London and Paris.

Sorry homies. New York has diversity, but lacks class. London and Paris are also extremely diverse, but just way classier. And prettier.

I still really want to move to NYC. I think I'd be content to live in Brooklyn or Queens, that's only like 30 minutes away from Manhattan (right?). I'm sure it would be leaps and bounds more awesome than Little Rock. Unfortunately, I'm stuck here for another year. I guess that's not too bad, though. It gives me enough time to get my ducks in a row.

What is it that you're trying to imply? I believe he is off to college and don't understand why you would think it necessary to point that out. Do you have something against NY, or Nyers?
