Smile Irish Yankees?
Hi there! I was ordering a Yankees' T-shirt on line (for Father's Day) for my husband... (As a gentle reminder to keep him focused on our plan to get to NY) Anyway, there was a whole section of Irish Yankee parafanalia. I bought one, cuz we're part Irish and they were good looking to boot-, but I don't know why they have them. Is anyone versed on this bit of sports "tradition"? Thanks!

Why they have "Irish Yankee" paraphernalia for sale is an easy question to answer: they have it because they can sell it! There's no specific tradition associating the Yankees with the Irish.
