1,100 a month rent. Closer to 1200 after the Broker fee... But great for the location and size of the apt

There was also a studio in the building for 1,000...

Astoria is cool, I like it out here
Yeah that's about average right now. Prices are dropping because of the economy. That area is really nice/lively. You'll love it in the summertime when they close down 30th ave, broadway and steinway for street fairs and bbqs. Astoria is easly my favorite neighborhood in NYC. No others come close for the mix of amenities, ethnic diversity, restaurants, hang out spots, character etc. You'll only grow to love it more the longer you live here.

/\ whoa I didn't know they do that! Even more excited now to be here!...

This neighborhood is great. Everything I need is within 5 or 6 square blocks

Laundry, Amenities, Pizza, Greek Food, Gym, Clothes shopping, banks, N/W Subway 1 1/2 blocks away... Feel like I only have to venture into the City when I meet up with friends...

Now, If I could just figure out how to score a Job out here, that'd be great lol

If my job was in Queens, I'd probably only go to the city a couple times a month. Otherwise I'd be in Astoria or the rest of Queens. Queens is the real New York, it's basically the world in a borough, which is what I want to experience everyday.

You could probably find a large studio apt. for approx. $1000 a month in Rego Park near Queens Blvd. (meaning near good subway service into Manhattan). Rego Park is a relatively safe area with excellent access to shopping, restaurants & the Forest Hills movie theaters.
