Default Your opinions on Bushwick!

Hey guys, i moved to Bushwick about 1 week ago and i'll be honest with you, its not as bad as some people say. Yeah it's kind of a spanish neighbourhood (i have like 4 mexican deli's and restaurants around my apt.), there some pretty old and nasty buildings, and some ghetto people, but aside from that its not that bad. I live off the Jefferson line on the L and its a 'construction' area so there's a lot of noise. But so far so good, anyways, i want to hear other peoples opinions, if you either lived in bushwick, live, or visited tell me what you think! Hopefully the area will see some gentrification over this year.

P.S. I'm a 19 male

It reminds me of the East Village of the 80's. Here is a link I posted a while back. There is another link with photos.

So these are the Hipsters in Bushwick?

Its good to hear that things are working out for you.Sometimes you have to live in a neighborhood and judge it for yourself.

I think in order, mostly Puerto Ricans then Mexicans, Ecuadorians, whites and some Blacks (especially the closer to Bed-Stuy) and then a few other Hispanics and some other races.

Towards the Williamsburg and Ridgewood border it's mostly Puerto Rican & Dominican with a growing Mexican & white population. Near Bed-Stuy, like stated in the quote, and East NY, it's more black.

Well i'm latin (kinda, skinwise), most of the people i see here are mexican, but i do see some white people walking around, i hope i don't sound too discriminatory. Any "Bushwickers" here to add anything?

I live in Ridgewood, and I avoid Bushwick like the plague.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
