Default Question for the Bronx folks

Within the next year or so I plan on relocating to NYC. Now my question is this, im pretty familiar with other areas of the Bronx but as far as the blocks around Yankee stadium, I never got a good look around as far as apartments go. Im pretty much looking to spend 800 max on a studio. Is there anything in the area within walking distance to Yankee stadium where I can pull this off? I dont need to live in some luxury b.s. , I just need a place that is kept up and not run down. Thanks in advance.

Im not sure. But rents have been rising in that area, so I dont know if you may be able to find a room at that price. Maybe with the economy things have become more affordable. But you should look, those blocks off the Concourse and even some towards the extreme west may be able to land you something cheap. Although they arent the best blocks.

I think you definitely can around the Yankee Stadium area, but not sure how close you will be, as the closer you are the higher the rents are. The entire area has been redeveloped, and now they are pushing for an entire 30 block redevelopment of the lower concourse too, which will add further to the pressure on rents and housing prices inevitably in the entire area. I think you should be able to pull it off...look on craigslist...the whole Yankee stadium area and all the supporting development around it, plus the new Metreo-North and other express trains to the city make it a decent choice for the money. And the area is getting better.

The best buildings in the Yankee Stadium are on Grand Concourse, but only south of 165th Street. After 165th St (around the housing court), the housing is in poorer condition.

Agreed. North of 165th St has many families with children as opposed to south of 165th St where there are more adults and elderly folks.
