Your kids might want some time to wander Williamsburg and Greenpoint by themselves. Also, grab dinner some time in the Park Slope neighborhood in Brooklyn, because there's good food and lots of quaintness to be found. You can also consider going up to Washington Heights/Inwood to the Cloisters (a really nice medieval museum), take a stroll and see the GW bridge, and get some Dominican chicken at el malecon.

If you like Jackson Heights and all of the spanish food, try coming uptown in Manhattan to Washington Heights (use the 1 train to 181st St since the A takes you to the more "Midtown like" version of the Heights). You have food from carts, restaurants galore, and so many nightclubs.
