Which bus would I take to get to the Cross County Mall in Yonkers from the Bronx, from near Bedford Park or Jerome Avenue? Does the Bee Line system let you pay with the metro card, and how much does it cost (I assume more than NYC buses)? Could I use a transfer to get to Cross County if I used a BX bus to get to the Bee Line stop?

K 22 had it! Take the 20 bus, it leaves you right on the mall by Macy's and best of all you can use your metrocard so it won't cost you a penny extra than taking a bus or the subway.
What bus can I take that will take me from the Bronx and leave me off near Saunders High School?
That school is over by Dunwoodie Golf Course, and the only bus I know of that runs in that area is along Palmer Road, but is an internal Westchester line. According to the map, it's the Route 30 bus, that connects Yonkers and Mount Vernon at respective train stations, winding through Yonkers, Bronxville, and Pelham, so the key would be to get somewhere along the route to make a connection.

Looks like you can take the 4 bus from the Woodlawn or Mosholu 4 train, and connect to the 30 bus to Saunders in Getty Square.
I can't open PDF files to check, but I think the #20/#21 also connect with the #30 (they go along Central Park Avenue). It might be a little faster than going through Downtown Yonkers.
