$10 dump
If you read the teletype is said this is going to be a 1 year test. It also said you will only get the double dump money if the dumps are made at 2 seperate locations. It also went on to say that hugo will soon be accepting both paper and M&G in the same facility - meaning no double truck money.

with all the cuts as of July 1st, all the changes within the job, Bloomberg's crusade for Tier 5/Bloomberg's inevitable re-election in November, and the contract being up in 2011, it just feels like the future of this job is headed into uncharted territory...Doherty seems really bold/defiant right now too (I still can't get over that threat he made to Nespoli a few months ago)...we're definitely going to have to weather this storm

Hopefully they won't be giving us Turkey money in our next contract. We have way to many turkey's as it is. Most of them just get hurt or put others in danger. Harry spoke recently about introducing no turkey clauses into the orientation to weed out the turkey's in the future. This thanksgiving I'm going to feast.....
It's an 8 HOUR JOB. WORK SAFELY.

I've noticed they've been clearing that area just past where we dump next to the scale. I couldnt see how that would work either....the scale guy would probably walk away. He's not exactly Mr. Sunshine to begin with. Do you take the 3 top copies yourself after you sign or give them all back to him to separate? I just give them all back, I don't care if it bugs him or not, it's his job.
That's why I'll take two Jerseys when I have a couple under me.

State Unions and Governor Agree on Tier 5 Pension Giveback Averts Layoffs

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come for DSNY in a few months.
The two largest state-employee unions June 5 agreed with Governor Paterson to create a new, less-generous pension tier for future workers as a way of avoiding up to 7,000 layoffs.
The deal, which could have major implications for municipal unions as well, is expected to lead to legislation that would roll back some of the pension gains made by current employees a decade ago while also imposing further restraints by capping the overtime work that can be used to bolster retirement allowances during employees' final years on the job.
Work 'til 62, Keep Paying 3%
Besides setting a limit of $10,000 in discretionary overtime that can be considered in calculating the annual pension allowance, the proposal would reinstate age 62 as the minimum age—up from 55 in many cases —at which employees could retire at full pension. It would also restore the requirement that employees continue contributing 3 percent of their salaries to their pensions after completing 10 years of service, and one under which they must work at least 10 years to be guaranteed a pension, rather than five. Both of those changes would represent a rollback of gains current employees made a decade ago under a deal that allowed both the state and the city to reduce the amounts they were contributing to the retirement systems.
