I lived there for 21 years, in starret city projects section A, if u think its bad there now....you should have seen it 18-20 years ago....I once got a burger at a local bodega, with a bag of coce between the buns, when i bit into it, i felt the flastic ....i opend the burger...and there it was..lol...i guess they made a misteak and gave me someones burger....lol....after a while you will be able to distinguish the large caliber from a small one....a diff between a pop, and a bang!....Stay off of New Lots and Livonia aves, and you ll be fine....and hide the iphone.

Try looking at Livonia Avenue or Van Sinderen Street and you see some run down areas. Linden Boulevard is mostly a mixed of Housing Projects and industrial, but the housing projects are what makes it a bad area.

The violent crime rate in East New York is lower than it is in Harlem. I also know a lot of good people from around there who are very dedicated to their community. You guys have to stop being such fear mongers.

ENY is basically Brownsville without the projects but Brownsville is the worst neighborhood in the city.

If I had a choice between those two neighborhoods, I would easily go with ENY. ENY is a lot bigger and you have greater chance of finding a decent block, whereas Brownsville is just gutter almost everywhere.

Yeah, I meant to ask for your opinions on if ENY or Brownsville were worse then the South Bronx (what neighborhoods in the SBX) and Bedstuy (Brooklyn).
