The Trinitarios continue to terrorize Washington Heights and Harlem.
After killing a rival DDP member on 145th and St Nicholas, they proceeded to sabotage the funeral, throwing bottles and wielding guns and knives.
NEW YORK.- The Dominican Raul Perez Diaz, 26, an alleged member of the gang “Dominicans Don’t Play” (DDP), was killed around 7 p.m. Sunday from a stab in the back in Saint Nicholas avenue and 144th St. and yesterday, members of the rival gang “Los Trinitarios” disrupted his wake in the Rivera funeral, on 173rd St. of the same avenue.

Washington Heights is a bad neighborhood. I've been there all this week and it's rough.

Seems like the only time anything bad happens in this city is when you are in the area! I think crime would be alot lower in NYC if you moved away!!! (that was in jest by the way) Seriously though, we are aware that crime exists, HOWEVER murders are WAY down. Is this a trend? Who knows..but the reality is EVERYONE claimed that since the economy was tanking, that crime would "shoot through the roof" and "crime has nowhere to go but up" and "murder rate is gonna spike". So what is ACTUALLY happening? The murder rate is WAY down...WAY down...116 last year at this time vs 89 this year so far. And the overall crime rate continues to fall despite the economy.

Yes, stats aren't 100% accurate, and some things are being under-reported, but I truly believe that crime has gone down in the city.

I think up. I don't know. Lately, I feel like I am hearing about more rape cases, and random acts of violence. I'm sure with the economy, the crime will go up too.

this reminds of an incident back in chicago, a gangbanger got killed and the family used the funeral home in the neighborhood that killed their son (unknowingly) and there was a drive by on the funeral home killing another banger when they were hanging out in front...

It seems like all the homicides in that area are drug related.........which makes perfect sense.

The murder of the DDP was gang related but it was in Harlem, which is DDP. Washington Heights has alot of gang members but the reason there isn't gang killings like there is in Corona is because ALL of Washington Heights flies under one flag.
The green flag.

Yet Sobro expects us to belive that the neighborhood is improving so rapidly that in 3 years crime will be extinct.
