South Bronx Greenway Now Reality
Thanks the federal stimulus, the South Bronx Greenway will be completed within 3 years, connecting the North Bronx, Central Bronx, Randalls Island, and Manhattan! The entire swath will also be receiving massive greening, including trees, plantings, and plazas...this is great news: South Bronx Greenway will open waterfront*|*Mott Haven Herald

Wow this is great for the people of the Bronx. I also heard they are going to build a Hard Rock Cafe next to the new Yankee Stadium. So a lot of good stuff are coming to the Bronx.

Hmm..I did not hear that..that would be kinda cool. I would prefer a Cheesecake Factory though! Do you have a link for the new Hard Rock opening?

I thought the New Hard Rock was located inside the Stadium, which had their opening a few days before the exhibition games.

wow BORING. This is getting frustrating. When is the bronx going to start making some major moves. Who really cares about this. Its gonna take more than that to fix the south bronx up. As far as development goes the X has been getting the lower end for a minute now. Forget these petty little steps thats going on, we need to be making some major moves

Boring? Major moves? Have you even been paying attention? Here's a quick recap on some "major moves" for the BX, South BX in particular: 1,000,000 sf retail/commercial opening called the Gateway Mall, including Target, Applebees, Marshalls, Toys-R-Us, Home Depot...minor? 1,000,000 sf Boricua Village to open late 2010 , including 300,000 sf for a new college, and 700,000 sf for retail, commercial, and condos/coops/rentals..minor? Entire Lower Grand Concourse (30 square blocks south of 149st) rezoned for new hotel, condos/coops/lofts, and new parkland (on the waterfront)...minor? Did I mention that Plaza at the Hub development that is going to be also about 1,000,000 sf to include commercial, condos/coops, a 25,000 sf supermarket, a 12 screen state of the art movie theater, and retail space in the hub (149st and 3rd avenue area)..minor? That's besides the new South Bronx Greenway....and those are just SOME of the MAJOR moves happenings in the South Bronx...we did not even get to the rest of the Bronx.
