The newest groups IMO will be Albanians, Mexicans, and West Africans. There will be substantial numbers of other East Europeans ( Serbian,Croatian etc.) , other Central Americans, and some Asians. I will not be a bit surprised if the Irish make a big comeback in the Bronx with the economy over in Ireland not doing so well. It also would not surprise me if the Bainbridge neighborhood in Norwood will have a Irish resurgence because I believe Woodlawn will be full to the brim and the current residents stay put. On the other hand African Americans , Italians , and Puerto Ricans will continue to leave the Bronx in large numbers moving respectively to these places: the northern Jersey suburbs, NEPA and the southern states; Long Island ,Florida and Staten Island; and small eastern Pa. cities such as Allentown-Bethlehem -Easton, Reading and Lancaster. I also can see a small decrease in Dominicans and Afro Caribbeans ,the former moving to North Jersey and the latter moving to Westchester Co. Also I hate to say this but as Manhatten and Brooklyn become more expensive, yuppies and hipsters may be moving into the Bronx.

It just amazed me the whole new wave of people that came to the bronx. Throughout the years. I have a friend that lives in West Palm Beach FL. She tells me that a lot of Jewish people that she meets there are from NYC. I think that if it comes to Irish people to be in the Bronx, then everybody would speak english again if you know what I mean. Currently, a lot of spanish people in the Bronx, does not know English. This is so, because there are many spanish people in the Bronx so they do not make an effort to learn English. It just a thought that I always had, and just wanted to share with you guys.

You guys let me know what you guys think=)

Albanians aren't new to the Bronx. They've been an entity in the BX for at least 30 years now I would guesstimate. I would think some of them would probably be offended by being considered a new group.

I see a few Asians living in my building, so I can definitely see more Asians moving into the Bronx.

I agree with you NooYowkur that the Albanians are not a "new" group but their numbers seem to be increasing rapidly right now after a pause for a while along with Croatians and other former soviet block nationalities.

There is almost no group left that can be strictly labeled as "new". At this point
almost everyone has been coming here for a while.
