Default Tennis in NYC

Hi guys

1. I'm wondering if they are some people here who have been playing tennis for a few years. I'm new here and have been playing tennis for many years and searching for tennis partners. You might know how I can meet people (for Tennis) and where to play tennis.

2. Also I want to become a tennis coach here I would like to know what I should do to start.

I was thinking to go to Flushing (Queens) to the big stadium to the tennis office and they might help me, any ideas?

thanks

There are quite a few places to play in Manhattan, even more in the other boroughs.

The Department of Parks has tennis courts in various parks that you can sign up for. I know there are several in Riverside Park up by Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center and in Central Park.

There are also a number of private courts (like the Town Tennis Club on East 56th).

There's a Tennis Court in Crotona Park at the Bronx. It is pretty nice. Many tournaments takes place there. However I do not know where you can go for coaching. Perhaps you can search on Google.

Also you can call here... Theres another tennis court...

Definitely go to the USTA site. I don't envy tennis fanatics who live in NYC..it's a chore just to get a court. I live on LI and it is relatively easy to find players and open/decent courts. Now if only the weather wasn't crappy 5 months of the year.......
