Hi everyone,

I'll be moving to 135th and Adam Clayton Powell in June, and I was wondering if biking to my job at 73rd and 1st could be feasible? I found a map that has bike routes listed, but I was wondering if these are real or theoretical, and even if they are real, how dangerous it would be biking there.

Thanks very much!
Greg

Absolutely! Just make sure you have a place to store your bike...And in the summer you might want to take a shower when you get there.

You should be fine biking to work ...... Do you obey traffic lights or do you blow them off?

I obey them...I've wanted to rundown too many bikers out here for blowing them off, so I refuse to be that guy!

Go straight down Powell to Central Park, and you can avoid all the street traffic. There's an exit at 72 Street on the East Side, and if you go a block or two up, 73 or 74 Street will take you over to First Avenue without having to deal with a major artery.

Also, for some great rides around the city, I recommend the Five Boro Bike Club.

hopefully he works at a gym because nyc building code prohibits showers in commercial office space.....they usually give leniency for like a big CEO that works long hours but otherwise they're banned.
