the first poster asked about commuting by bike within Manhattan. this one involves the Bronx. I've been doing close to 7 days per week, 3-4 miles per day (not a lot compared to seasoned bikers) in Van Cortlandt park. Not a lot for a seasoned biker, but good for my health of course
I live on Broadway and 252 street in Riverdale and work in the area of White Plains rd and 238th street. It's a 3.8 mile trip one way by car.
I already know the different routes I can take by bike to commute, but I was wondering what others thought. The main drawback is it involves hills and that would involve me having to walk the bike up and down the hills(up is too strenous, down is too dangerous) either in Yonkers or the southern perimeter of Van Cortlandt Park which is enough to make me to just not bother with the idea, because that can be a big time waster
But I wonder what you think anyway. Right now it doesn't look good but part of me wants to try to do this
