Another website with aerial pictures: Tous les Quartiers de New York - All the Borough of New York

A French site. Occasionally they get neighborhood names wrong, and misspell some places. But the shots are fascinating. You can enter each borough for photos.

that is a good one too fred, it reminds me of google earth, there are alot of good website out there concerning aspects of nyc , like good places to eat, crime area maps, events happening in the parks etc, maybe we should have NYC website thread that list websites with a brief discription, that might be good info to have on here

I think Rachael was the first to post this site: Historic Aerials, and it's pretty cool -- especially for areas that have undergone massive change (i.e. South Bronx).

Bridgeandtunnelclub.com is a good site too. You click on "The Big Map" to get to the section with photography. The peculiar thing about it is that when I visited on Yahoo, there were short comments with the photos, but not with Firefox. I don't understand that. (It's also not updated very frequently). But like the French site, you can also visit the city borough by borough.
