Default Where to stay in Pelham Pkwy to commute via 2 train?

Hi,

Where should we stay in Pelham Pkwy in order to commute via number 2 train? How safe are houses near Pelham Pkwy Station & Bronx Park East Station and neighbourhood?

Any sites besides craigslist to search for rental apartments?

Thanks

safest and nicest areas would be east of bronxdale when south of pelham parkway, and east of williamsbridge south of allerton north of pelham parkway. Overall, one of the safer parts of the bronx imo.

Thanks, Jrock.. I'm interested in South of Pelham Pkwy.. So, from E of Bronxdale Ave till which Road would be safe? Can you give the borders of the safe area in this case?

Is the area E of Bronxdale Ave and South of Pelham Parkway but near White Plains Rd safe?

Thanks again for the quick response.

I've lived a few blocks east of White Plains Rd. for almost two years now and haven't experienced anything bad, so you should be fine. It is a bit more "urban" (more apartment buildings, fewer houses) than the areas further to the east, but on the whole I find it's pretty quiet. A lot of kids do hang out around White Plains Rd., which makes some people uncomfortable, but I've personally never had any problems with them.

East of White Plains and South of Pelham Pkwy is actually a really nice area, probably the safest part of the Bronx.
