Hello guys, I am arriving in JFK at 12:35, and the bus leaves Port Authority at 14:00. Do you think a taxi can get me there in time?

1) Where do you arrive from? There are several factors to take in consideration - the flight might be late, or it may take longer then usual to claim your baggage (if you have any).
2) There is a train from JFK to the city (connection).
3) There are busses you can take to port authority.
4) Taxi or limo - it depends on traffic. There may be some unexpected delays. However, if everything goes smooth - it may take 45 -50 min.
5) If you are in a hurry, there is always:

Judging by the 1400 this person arriving from Europe. Between customs, baggage claim, traffic and tunnels I say there is it is highly unlikely that he/she boards a bus at 1400 from the Port Authority. You may want to inquire on when the next bus is.

I also think to it would be kind of impossible that you board the bus on time... if you'd like a transport quickly after your arrival, I have experience with prices from $14. Here is the link: [url=http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-2300448-10658121?sid=city-data]

Though I'm not driving exactly that way, nevertheless I'm driving every day through Queens to Manhattan, and my best estimate for that route at this time of day would be around 50-55 mins (reasonable range is 40 mins - 1h20.) Mondays are worst. You also need to take into account the time you spend waiting in line for a taxi and then getting to the bus. That I don't know.

Another good question might be...what's the point in giving answers to a question that was asked in May of last year? (Though I must say, I'm curious to know if he made it!)

You could take the Connecticut Limo shuttle service from JFK to Hartford: Connecticut Limo.
