As a newcomer (from Denmark) I don´t really understand what "no standing at any time" means? It´s not parking, is it? Is there anyone out there who knows, and does anyone know of any websites that list NYC streetparking/free parking? Any help appreciated
Yes, standing includes parking...means your car can't be stopped there, parked or otherwise at any time. Parking means you stop the car, turn it off, and leave it. Standing means you park, but stay in the car. Manhattan street parking is impossible---you have to move your car every day, you can't keep track of all the rules, and there's hardly such a thing as "free" parking in Manhattan b/c of all the tickets you get. Get rid of your car, it's not worth it.
Tx for clarification on standing! Hubbie needs the car as part of his work set-up. Find street parking hopeless, afraid to get overwhelmed by tickets, garages are ridiculously expensive.
as of today, april 16th 2011 can i park in midtown manhattan without feeding the meter
