Question Seeking a diverse area in Queens

I may be accepting a job offer, and am doing some reseach in hopes of finding a diverse, safe, family friendly area in Queens for my family (husband and 2 year old son). My friend just bought a home in Whitestone, so something within a 30-45 minute drive to Whitestone would be ideal, but ultimately I just want a nice area.

We are currently in San Francisco. I'm used to inflated rental rates and crowded public transportation - but thankfully we have cars (and will be shipping them over if we move). Thanks in advance for all responses.

Fresh Meadows is a nice, quiet neighborhood that has a diverse population, same goes with nearby Hillcrest.

List of Queens neighborhoods - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That link provides neighborhoods that also provide the demographics of that specific neighborhood. It definitely helps out a lot in determining what places are the most diverse. It helped me out a little.

Queens itself is one of those most diverse towns in the US. However, I don't think that Whitestone is diverse at all.

I think:
Forest Hills
Kew Gardens
Jamaica Estates (Jamaica Hills as they call it now)
Astoria (but I would recommend certain areas)
Elmhurst (another I woud ony recommend certain areas)
South Ozone Park
Richmond Hill

You forgot to add Woodside and Sunnyside to the mix. I agree with you about Elmhurst.
