Cool Surprised by these numbers!

I always though that New York County (Manhattan) had more jobs than any every county in New York but it does not which is surprising to me!
County Name, State, Year, Labor Force, Employed
Queens County, NY=2008, 1,127,8251,072,068
New York County, NY=2008, 939,219, 893,657
Kings County, NY=2008, 1,111,982, 1,045,940
Bronx County, NY=2008, 525,274, 486,152
Richmond County, NY=2008, 245,238, 232,960

I thought that Manhattan would have had more jobs than its has people (1.5 million residents)!!!
The only thing I can think of is that these numbers literally mean how many people are in employed in the county because I'm pretty sure Manhattan has more jobs than that. lol
People come from All over to work in Manhattan.

Well, I don't know when these were compiled, but there has been this little matter of a recession I've heard about in the news lately. Wall Street is in Manhattan, no? Wall Street loses 3,100 jobs in March | Reuters

I think something like 2+million jobs exist in manhattan. The numbers you posted are how many people of a county's population are in the labor force and how many in the labor force are unemployed.
