Post 60 st.nicholas new york,ny 10035

Hello all,

I need help, below is a link to an apartment I saw today. Really nice place but I need info on the area, I know how 111th and 112th are on lenox, but this is on St. Nick . Is it safe? I have a 10 yr old son. It looked to be a decent area and it is closer to his school.

Thanks.

What is your opinion of Lenox and 111th, 112th? It is only 1 block away. St Nick cut across 111th and 112th between 7th and Lenox.

I passed by there yesterday in a cab, I also passed by that Luxury building 111 W 110th St, I couldn't believe what I saw, I saw about 20 or so men just loitering right in front of that building, on the Lenox Ave side. Some leaning against the glass of the building. The entrance door was clear on W 110th. There were a lot of homeless men along the north entrance of central park as well, from 8th to 5th Ave.

You will have to consider all the factors that you have in place for your son concerning safety to and from school around the area. Are you used to that environment? If so, it may not be a problem.

If possible I would suggest you wait for the kingdome basketball games to start in Foster (king nycha houses). See if you like how safe it is afterward. Supposedly they are going to limit a lot of the kids hanging out in the area, so see how you like it in the summer first. Good Luck

I've been living over there for 23 years now and it's the safest part of harlem. I also work at the school which is on 113 7th and 8th ave. You have nothing to worry about sweety. Central Park is nearby and it's considerd to be the "downtown" part of harlem. Take care

i live on 111th lenox ave..and i've been living there my whole life. The reason why you probably seen a few homeless people is because on 110 lenox ave and on 110 7th ave there are two homeless shelters. The onle on 110th Lenox ave is right next to the bodega. The one on 110 7th ave is near a church. It is very safe . If you live in nyc you will always see homeless people but that doesn't mean that its not safe. From my personal experience it is really safe. If you are not sure pass by on a friday or saturday night.
