Generally, as you go east and south from prospect park, it gets worse. Kensington is ok, the other areas you mentioned not so much.

Prospect Leffert Gardens is the hood, point blank. Kensington is okay though.

flatbush varies from very bad blocks to great blocks. flatbush includes prospect park south, ditmas park, and prospect-lefferts gardens. nostrand avenue separates flatbush from east flatbush.

Flatbush is OK...cleaned up a lot though after the 90's. I think Utica Ave (or Nostrand depending on who you ask) separates Flatbush from E. Flatbush. If you keep to yourself and don't look for trouble, you should be safe.

ditmas park is the safest part of flatbush, and the most expensive. i cant tell you the worst parts of flatbush because it varies from block to block. but i can tell you some blocks to stay away from:

most of east 21st street
church avenue from east 18th street to nostrand ave
ocean ave from foster ave to parkside ave
flatbush ave from clarkson ave to washington ave

these are the most dangerous parts of flatbush after nightfall.

idont think those areas are really that bad........ive worked in that area for the last 5 years and ive never had a problem.......and i worked all different shifts so i know what its like at nighttime ,daytime and early evening
the only thing ive noticed though on e21st usually from from beverly to woodruff is that even at 6 - 7 in the morning the people are still hanging out and drinking and smoking from the night before

not that they're necessarily bad, but they are the worst parts of flatbush....however do you work there on the weekends? and another thing, your comfort level may be higher than somebody else. a lot of people hanging out on the street could make somebody feel uncomfortable.
