I've seen some stuff from the media and even some posters hear mention about how Bensonhurst is a stronghold for the Italian American underclass. Although I know the problem with trusting the media when it comes to geography so I ask is Bensonhurst really a place where many of the Italians (and others in general) are uneducated and I don't mean to offend anyone but "low class." I also understand that Bensonhurst is increasingly becoming less Italian and more Chinese and Russian. But I see on shows and even on the internet that Bensonhurst is---well here's a video clip to show you what I mean.
Wow that video is old! Looks like early 90s, based on the spoofing of "Beverly Hills 90210". If you look closely you'll see a young Michael Imperioli in the video!
It's actually pretty funny
To the OP: I hope you know that this video is satire and it is broadly spoofing a racial stereotype and needed a geographic reference ("Bensonhurst 11210") to tie in the "Beverly Hills 90210" satire. Seriously, you knew that, didn't you?
That video was hilarious, but Bensonhurst today is nothing like that at all. Most of Italians that live there now are more Americanized, and it's a pretty mixed neighborhood now [Bensonhurst is actually 11214 and 11228, I think 11210 is Flatbush btw].

Yes I knew that. Like I said you can't trust shows like this to give you good information on a place. But I was just wondering if there is any truth (at least a little) to these satires.
