Yeah unlike the frail guy protrayed in movie the guy didnt listen to warnings not to pass the house including to stop speeding.
He still continued to race around the street to nail a parking space. Gotti's wife would get really upset heristical every time he passed the house.

Always remember Hollywood is bogus, marketing come's first not the truth.

A good movie about the mafia in the 60s is A Bronx Tale, love that movie.

Yeah, but the area portrayed in that movie, Belmont, doesn't exist as a real neighborhood anyomore though. Arthur Ave is kept running for all of the tourist dollars, but beyond that Belmont really isn't that much different from the rest of that are of the Bronx which has become a boarding house for low-income Puerto Ricans and Dominicans.

My parents said that the Bronx has changed a whole lot since they lived in the city (Queens and Manhattan).

As far as the mafia, they said that they used to be there when we lived in Middle Village. My dad said that they used to be in Maspeth where he grew up.

Yeah the Bronx has turned into a slum over the past 50 years. It used to be majority middle-class Jewish, now it is majority lower-class Puerto Rican and Dominican.

Puerto Ricans have been in the bronx for years. You say it like they just started popping up there. And a lot of the Italians and Jews who lived there up until the early 70's were poor also.

Yeah they started moving in back in the 1950s/1960s. Thats what I meant.

A lot of the Italians and Jews living in the Bronx are still poor. While these neighborhoods were poor/blue collar areas, they were never dangerous. The same can't be said of the Puerto Rican/Dominican neighborhoods of today.

Seeing as how this is the Mob page, does anyone know what the hell is going on in Southern Brooklyn? 2 back to back mob murders? What's going on?

Do you have any clue as to what is happening? They aren't reporting much of anything about it in the news. Is it just tit-for-tat murders or is it something bigger?
